HR Strange But True

Is the Next Employee Training Topic ‘How to Deal with Drug Dealers’?

Last week we wrote about a blunt finding its way into a customer’s burger. This week, we’re bringing you another restaurant story about drugs changing hands, this time in the other direction, customer to waitress.

According to an article in The Oregonian, a couple was dining at a steakhouse restaurant and was closing the tab. First, the couple put down a gift card.

Apparently, the gift card didn’t cover the entire meal plus tip because the couple then handed its waitress a white envelope with a question mark on the front.

The envelope was filled with drugs, crystal meth to be specific.
The employee handled the situation professionally, the manager told reporters. She “calmly walked away and called the Police Department.”

The police arrived before the couple left. They found more of the illegal substance in the woman’s purse.

In addition, the employee’s tip to the police led the authorities to finding the couple’s makeshift meth lab.
